The National Weather Service has advised an increasing chance of heavy snow will develop Friday night across portions of central Minnesota into northwest Wisconsin. Initial forecasts of 4"-6" is expected throughout Barron County. 

This band can still shift a bit from where it is currently expected. In addition, strong north winds developing Friday night could lead to areas of blowing snow. The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for Barron County in effect from Monday morning through late Monday night. 6 to 9 inches of heavy snow is expected, with localized amounts up to 11 inches. Please use caution while driving and allow extra time to get to work. Remember, 4-wheel drive will put you in the ditch just as fast as 2-wheel drive. Drive smarter, not faster...
