Snow & Dangerous Temps Monday and Tuesday

A clipper moving across the area today still looks to bring a quick 1-4" of snow to the region. Behind this clipper it's a reinforcing shot of arctic air, with wind chills Monday and Tuesday mornings dropping into the 40s BELOW zero in western MN.

Impacts:

  • Snow/blowing snow will impact travel this afternoon through Monday morning.

  • Bitterly cold conditions through mid-week with Monday and Tuesday mornings expected to be the coldest.

Snowfall Amounts - High Confidence

  • 2-4" in Eastern MN and West Central WI

  • Around 1" for Western MN

Snowfall Timing - High Confidence

  • Heaviest snow today from noon to midnight.

  • Light snow will continue through Monday in western WI, but additional accumulations will be an inch or less

Cold Temperatures/Wind Chills - Medium-High Confidence

  • Low temperatures: -25°F to -10°F Tuesday morning, -15°F to -5°F Monday morning.

  • Monday and Tuesday mornings' wind chills will be the lowest, dropping to as low as -45°F in Western MN and as low as -25°F in Eastern MN and West Central WI.

  • Confidence is HIGH the Twin Cities will NOT reach wind chill warning criteria (-35°F) Tuesday morning
